What we stand for
NT Socialists is a new electoral party shaking up politics as usual in the Territory—rebuilding a fighting socialist movement and an anti-capitalist alternative to the major parties. We fight against racism and for First Nations justice. We’re for workers’ rights, housing and economic justice, and climate action. We oppose the growing US military presence and want to see Pine Gap closed for good.

The Territory desperately needs a political force that stands up to the powerful, and stands with the people who are fighting back.
Australia today is more unequal than ever. Profiteering by landlords, banks, supermarkets and other big corporations is driving a devastating cost-of-living crisis. In the NT, record numbers of Indigenous kids languish behind bars while their communities endure abject poverty. The ADF pours billions into contracts aimed at turning the Top End into a military stronghold, while working-class people struggle just to get by.
It doesn’t have to be like this. The racist logic of Indigenous mass incarceration, and the claim we can’t afford adequate housing, or properly funded schools, hospitals, and public transport are based on lies. Australia is one of the wealthiest countries on Earth and the government invests hundreds of millions in military infrastructure. With a fair distribution of wealth and resources, everyone can have the chance to live a decent life.
